We are exclusively instructed by a leading global M&A underwriter seeking a London-based, Australian-qualified M&A lawyer to join their expanding APAC team.

This is a rare opportunity to transition from private practice into a high-impact, international in-house role — beginning in Singapore and progressing to lead and build the Sydney office.

The Role

• Initially based in Singapore, before transitioning to Australia to establish and lead a new team.
• Advise on complex cross-border M&A transactions and manage relationships with brokers and external counsel.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team working on some of the most high-profile deals in the market.

The Ideal Candidate

• Mid-level corporate associate (circa 4–6 PQE) currently at a leading firm in London.
• Australian-qualified, ideally trained at a top-tier Australian firm before relocating to London.
• Interested in a long-term in-house career path with a focus on leadership and growth.
• Prior insurance M&A experience advantageous but not essential.
• Commercially minded, confident managing multiple stakeholders, and comfortable taking on responsibility early.
• Demonstrates leadership potential to grow and develop the Sydney function.
