Getting to Know Tito Ayantunde

Rebecca Adlington
December 16, 2022
Tito Ayantunde joined the Sonder team as a consultant in December 2022 after graduating with a law degree and gaining recruitment experience in the City of London. From her short time here at Sonder, she has already proven to be an invaluable asset to the team and were delighted to have her onboard.

Learn more about Tito and her story below and if you're a lawyer that is interested in making a domestic or international move, or want to discuss the legal market in general, please do not hesitate to contact Tito at tito.ayantunde@sonderconsultants.com.

1. Where are you from?

Originally from Nigeria. Me and my family relocated to the UK when I was two and later settled in Essex, where I grew up. I now live in East London.

2. Why did you move into recruitment?

Like so many others, I fell into recruitment accidentally in early 2021. However, I saw it as a chance to take control of my career, meet and speak to so many different people, and earn good money in the process.

3. Best piece of advice to give to lawyers looking for a job?

Get informed! Working with the right recruiter is a really positive experience – getting behind-the-scenes market intel, getting an objective view of the best firms in your practice area, and matching your wants and needs with a firm that can provide them for you.

4. Favourite restaurant in City?

Coppa Club by Tower Bridge – if you can get one of the igloos, even better!

5. Favourite thing about the place you live?

I’m only a half-hour tube from central London, but still in a very residential area.

6. Best place you ever visited/favourite holiday location?

I got the chance to visit Fethiye in Turkey earlier this year for my birthday and it was a beautiful experience. Another highlight would be going on a boat tour in Malta – beautiful islands and the bluest water.

7. What do you like most about working for Sonder Consultants?

The team is tight-knit, super collaborative and helpful – even from all the way in New York and Sydney. All my questions get answered, and I've had excellent training from the start. Joining a team that integrates you well is all you can ask for!

8. Biggest inspiration/role model (dead or alive)?

One of my biggest inspirations is my dad – he’s an NHS Consultant Surgeon that worked hard to bring us, his family, to the UK for a fresh start in 2000. He’s such a hard worker and finds purpose and happiness in his job, and leaves a positive impression on people every day.

9. Favourite book/film?

One of my favourite films is Bridget Jones’ Diary – an accidental Christmas classic.

10. If you were marooned on a desert island, what one item would you bring with you?

A lighter? It should help to cook food, I love cooking! Also for practical reasons to get the salt out of seawater and start a fire for warmth.

11. If you were president for a day, what would you change in the world?

I’d make safe 24-hour public transport a global human right.

12. Favourite interview question to ask?

“What are 3 words your friends would use to describe you?”

“What does success in this role look like in 6 months’ time?”

13. Biggest interview faux pas?

Lying. Of course, you can tailor your answers to the firm/question but lying in an interview can come back to bite you later. Being upfront from the start, and in your CV can only help you!
