We’re sure you’ve heard of this book, but it can be helpful to reacquaintance yourself with it if you have big ambitions within your law firm that would require people’s buy in of your potential. Even outside of law life, this book can add tremendous value to those of you who want to more deeply understand and inspire the people around you.

3. Deep Work - Cal Newport

Due to how many daily tasks lawyers have to do it is easy to become distracted and fall into routines. Deep Work looks into the world of people who want to remain focused in a massively distracted world. This book can be transformative for the way you approach your work day!

4. How to Argue and Win Every Time - Gerry Spencer

This book was written by a lawyer and will likely be the most relatable to most lawyers. In How to Argue and Win Every time Spencer focuses on effective communication and faux pas’ most lawyers make.

5. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion - Robert B. Caldini

This clarifies the laws of persuasion. Though not written for lawyers, it will likely be very beneficial because persuasion is the basis of practicing law.

6.The Marble and the Sculptor: From Law School to Law Practice - Keith Lee


Keith Lee’s The Marble and the Sculptor is one of the best books for junior lawyers starting off in their career. He shares his advice in the form of a “clear no-nonsense path from law school to lawyering.”
